Kirby's first day

This past weekend we took in a new member of the family with a yellow lab puppy I named Kirby.  It's probably not as original a name for a dog as the one my last one had (Zydeco) but it's pretty fitting, since I thought of it after the Kirby-brand vacuum cleaner, and I've jokingly called dogs "nature's vacuum cleaner" since they both suck up their food and clean up any messes a human makes when they spill any food.

He's the fourth yellow Labrador I've owned total. After arriving home he spent his first few hours running around playing; exhausting himself so much that he just passed out on the ground there before I could take him back inside! I didn't want to disturb him so rather than pick him up to take him in I let him sleep and sat by him the whole time.
