So the new trailer for the new Ninja Turtles movie is out. Reactions are pretty mixed, ranging from "hey, that actually looks pretty cool" to "yeah, this is gonna suck." I've personally been a Turtle fan for 25 years now, and the movie even comes out on the anniversary of when I got into them, so regardless of how it turns out I'm probably going to see it anyway. Still, while people are coming with several reasons for why it should be avoided, I thought I'd take a few points on how it could be decent.
1 It actually looks like it's focusing on the Turtles as a team. It's written by the same writers who gave us Mission Impossible 4 a few years back, and they turned that into less of the "Tom Cruise and friends" show that the first three films were and instead focused on the entire IMF squad. From what is seen in trailer we do see the foursome acting like a team, which is more than you could say about that sucky excuse CGI film several years ago. Though I will admit it's just the trailer and the CGI movie had the same false impression only to sideline Mikey and Don and turn Leo into an absolute, full-of-himself dick who insists on remaining as inactive as possible, so that's kind of a double edged sword at this point.
2 Kevin Eastman helped oversee production on this. The same man who helped create the characters and is co-writing the current comic. Considering how excellent the comic is I'd say he still has a pretty good idea of how the franchise should go, so I trust that he wouldn't let the production screw up what they're doing. And seriously, if you're even a casual comic reader I really suggest checking the new comic out. It's really, really good, and manages to throw in clever references from the 80's cartoon in there without turning them into cheap gimmicks like the POS that is the new cartoon.
3 Even though there is a toyline, it's actually being backed by a different company rather than Playmates. Which means that they won't turn it into a 90 toy commercial with no other purpose or reason for the film to exist like they're doing with said cartoon.
So, there we are so far. While I doubt it'll be as great as the comic from IDW, I do have some faith that it'll at least be better than, again, the CGI film or the new cartoon. Let's see if Turtle Power actually holds up in four months.

Back injuries and video journals
I injured my back last week and it has been difficult getting through. I don't even know what I did exactly to hurt it - it started hurting while I was laying flat on my bed last Friday night. My best idea is it's a combination of stuff that just wore it down for a bit, so because of that I've had to limit a lot of activities, so among other things that means I can't throw any of Kirby's tennis balls for him for a while since that goes down to my back when I lift my arm up. Fortunately after several days of agony and lack of sleep because it's hurt too much, the pain has finally started to get better between all the things I've been doing to provide relief for the pain, and I've even been able to sleep again without too much trouble, so it's finally started recovering. I'm not completely back to normal just yet, and there's still a little pain, but at the way things are going I should be recovered fully in a few days. I also toyed with doing video journals and posts at least two years
Happy Birthday Sky!
It was four years ago today Sky Chase officially made her debut! Back then she was just a minor background Wonderbolt character I'd decided to have appear in an image I was paying for. After switching to future (and much better) artists, I started focusing on her more, with several of the later artists adding and finalizing many details about her and her appearance, most notably:iconpridark:, :iconnoah-x3:, and :iconzacatron94:. She's since become one of my main OCs, so much so that I've even started working on a human counterpart for her (named Skye, naturally) to appear in my Comic Strip work. For her 4th birthday I had this wonderful image from :iconliaaqila: commissioned, where a filly, Sweet Pop (https://mlp.fandom.com/wiki/Sweet_Pop) recognizes her without her uniform and asks for an autograph, and Sky of course is more than happy to sign it. Here's to another 4 years!
I'm in so much pain right now
Remember my journal entry from a year ago about being in a lot of pain?
Which was a result of me getting tendonitis from overworking myself, with things going crazy so much I often ended up moving the equivalent of 8 miles a day.
Sadly, even after taking some days off and trying to go out of my way to not overwork myself, this week has just so hectic that after three days my limbs are starting to hurt almost as bad as that time. I'm scared I may be getting tendonitis again. At least I have tomorrow off, but I don't know what I'm going to do after that.
Health hiccups - I'm down, but not out
I finished my acting class for this semester this past week. Unfortunately, there's been a flu bug going around - my teacher was starting to come down with it and even a few other members were absent because of it. Worse, despite my hopes and precautions to try and avoid catching it, I've started fighting it off too, as yesterday I had an awful headache and was feeling pretty nauseous, so I decided to use some sick hours to take the rest of the day off and spend the rest of it in bed. The good news is, since today's my day off I've mainly been staying in bed resting; I've been feeling a lot better today with no headache or nasuea so I think I
